Fitesa starts up spunmelt machine in Peru; new US line set for later this year or in 2014

HOUSTON, TEXAS, January 10, 2013-

Fitesa brought its new Peruvian spunmelt line on-stream during 2012's fourth quarter, and the unit is now manufacturing commercial product. The Simpsonville, South Carolina-based company's next US capacity addition, announced in 2010 with an initial projected startup in the first half of 2013, is now expected to come on-line either in 2013 or in 2014.

Both the new Peruvian line and the planned US unit are 4.2-meter Reicofil 4 spunmelt machines, with annual capacities depending on mix of about 17,000 tonnes. Once the US line starts up, that will complete both Fitesa's public capacity plans and the current round of capacity additions announced by the North American industry.
