Glatfelter is in the hunt for growth: will it expand internally or purchase, or both – and where?

CLOVERDALE, CA, November 20, 2014-

Glatfelter's airlaid business has the best possible kind of problem: its sales are rising, its revenues are increasing, and it can't make enough of its products to meet potential demand, at least in North America. That's why its top managers told their quarterly investor call they are looking for ways to grow which could include expansion of existing assets or construction of a greenfield site. The company is even talking about the possibility of buying something, although executives did not say specifically that would be in airlaid.

While management didn't come right out and say it in the November 4 call, the company appears to be supplying airlaid fabric for Procter & Gamble's re-entry into the adult incontinence field, and is benefiting from a rollout that so far seems to be gaining some traction.
