K-C replies to claims that glass was found in Huggies baby wipes

CLOVERDALE, CA, August 24, 2015-

At least two women on opposite sides of the United States have claimed that they found glass in packages of Huggies baby wipes, and manufacturer Kimberly-Clark posted a statement on its website that appeared to be a response to the first claim. The company noted that the manufacturing process can occasionally create "a shiny particle similar to what was found by this consumer" as a result of a blending of fibers.

A Palm Coast, Florida woman had posted a video on a social media site telling about finding glass and, according to a Jacksonville, Florida news site, it had gotten at least 16 million hits by this morning. A Los Angeles television station reported that a woman from Camarillo, California had also found glass in the wipes. She posted a Facebook video which had been seen more than six million times as of last Friday in which she appeared to be finding sparkling objects in the wipes, at least one of which wiped off on her hand.
