OSAKA, Japan, November 21, 2014-

On September 24, 2014, NIPPON SHOKUBAI CO., LTD. ("NIPPON SHOKUBAI") filed a lawsuit at Seoul Central District Court in Republic of Korea against LG CHEM, LTD. (a Korean manufacturer of superabsorbent polymers), seeking injunctions against infringement of NIPPON SHOKUBAI's several Korean patents relating to superabsorbent polymers and the method of manufacture thereof.

NIPPON SHOKUBAI has been engaged, for years, in the research and development activities aiming to achieve improved performance, quality and productivity of superabsorbent polymers known as AQUALIC CA. NIPPON SHOKUBAI recognizes the intellectual properties generated and obtained through such long-term and continuous activities as one of the most important and valuable managerial resources.
