PGI continues expansion push with agreement to acquire French hygiene and medical nonwovens specialist Dounor

CLOVERDALE, CA, March 26, 2015-

Polymer Group Inc. will buy Dounor SAS in the second quarter of this year in a deal that brings the US-based nonwovens giant a well-regarded specialist in hygiene and medical fabrics that operates eight nonwovens lines plus a pilot spunmelt machine and a fiber line at a plant in northern France.

Dounor, based in Neuville en Ferrain, was launched in 1986 by Christophe Willot, who remains the owner and president. It manufactures spunbond and spunmelt nonwovens for hygiene and medical applications and carded thermalbond, mainly for hygiene and wipes. Its polypropylene fiber line feeds its carded nonwovens machines.
