Swedish DP and UWF manufacturer Vida Paper may continue production until the end of the month
BRUSSELS, BELGIUM, January 16, 2013-
The bankrupt Vida Paper can continue production at its mill in Lessebo, southern Sweden, until the end of January while looking for a buyer, according to the firm's CEO Jan Fjeldså. Talks with interested parties are ongoing, Fjeldså told RISI, hinting the company was well on its way to finding a new owner.
Vida Paper filed for bankruptcy on December 12, and received a green light from its bank to continue production until January 12 while searching for a buyer to take over the site. That deadline was recently prolonged. "This is a sales process, so nothing is written in stone. Things can be sorted out before [the end of the month] but it can also require more time," Fjeldså said.
