Tenowo GmbH is in the midst of an impressive round of capacity expansions, with new nonwoven lines either being installed or in the process of ramping up in Germany, the United States and China. CEO Dr. Harald Stini made it clear in an interview with Nonwovens Markets that this process was by no means pre-determined: the company could easily have decided instead to shift its strategic focus to another end-user segment, or simply rested on its laurels without attempting to grow.

Tenowo is one of three divisions of Hoftex Group AG, a privately-held manufacturer based in the Bavarian town of Hof. The other two divisions are a classical textile business and a decorative fabrics business. In 2013, Tenowo generated more than half of Hoftex Group's revenues.
