Working group established to consider possible ISO standards for flushability of wipes

CLOVERDALE, CA, September 18, 2014-

If anybody thought the question of flushability guidelines for wipes was a sprint, it has become clear by now that it is more of a marathon. A new stage in the ongoing issue emerged last month when a working group was established to consider a possible International Standards Organization standard for testing and certifying flushability - a process that conceivably could take three years.

INDA president Dave Rousse expressed the hope that the ISO work "will be informed by the wastewater and nonwovens industry work that has already been done," and that it will go in parallel with an existing wastewater/nonwovens industry working group looking into flushability marketing issues.
