JNC to add a new polyolefin bicomponent fiber production line in China
SUZHOU, China, June 14, 2016-
JNC Corporation (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, CEO Mr. Yasuyuki Goto, hereinafter "JNC") will jointly invest in a new production line for polyolefin bicomponent fibers at ES FiberVisions Suzhou Co., Ltd, a joint venture company with FiberVisions Corporation (Georgia, USA, CEO Mr. Tom Zaiser, hereinafter "FiberVisions") in Jiangsu Province, China.
The product family made at this plant is well-known as "ES Fiber". ES Fiber is a bicomponent fiber made of two thermo-plastic polymers having different melting points. ES Fiber was the first bicomponent fiber produced successfully at commercial scale by Chisso Corporation (JNC is a 100% subsidiary of Chisso Corporation and inherited all the businesses). ES fiber can be converted into nonwoven fabrics by heating the fibers up without adhesives and the resulting nonwoven fabrics are softer and bulkier than those produced by competing technologies. Nonwoven fabrics made of ES Fiber are widely used in hygiene products such as baby diapers, wet wipes and feminine care products.
