Neenah filtration capacity expansion project starts up; on-plan for Q1 customer shipments

CLOVERDALE, CA, March 23, 2017-

Neenah Paper Inc.’s plant in Appleton, Wisconsin started up a wetlaid line early this year that is designed to produce the same range of transportation filtration products that is made at the company’s Gessner site in Germany. The company says it is on schedule to start delivering product samples to customers during the current quarter.

The Appleton machine was converted from production of fine papers. The machine has a nameplate capacity of 20,000 tonnes depending on product mix. According to Nonwovens Markets parent company RISI Inc., the unit had a 2.87-meter wire width and trimmed at 2.54 meters when it manufactured fine papers.
