CLOVERDALE, CA, July 27, 2016-

Companhia Providencia founder Milan Starostik has passed away, causing tributes to flow in from a wide range of sources including his former company as well as animal rights groups that he supported.

Starostik and his wife Anita founded Providencia in 1963 to make plastic packaging for the food industry. They launched a PVC pipes and fittings business in 1978. Then, in 1988, they bought their first Reifenhäuser line to make spunbonded durable materials. The company began supplying the US furniture and bedding market in 1990.
