Underlying demand growth that offset various headwinds was a common theme as Schouw & Co.’s two nonwovens companies reported their latest earnings this month. At the same time, each company revealed more details about growth plans including expanded product portfolios and increased capacity.

Schouw’s industrial products company, Fibertex Nonwovens, is in the process of commissioning a new needlepunch line at its Czech plant. The company’s financial report admitted that the installation “took a little longer than expected.” Meanwhile, Fibertex Nonwovens continues to upgrade existing lines at its European plants “as part of its strategy to increase sales of value-added products and optimize capacity utilization at all of its factories.”
