Both Fibertex companies report rise in Q2 sales, but Fibertex Nonwovens reports drop in EBITDA

CLOVERDALE, CA, August 15, 2019-

Danish holding company Schouw & Co.’s two nonwovens businesses reported year-over-year increases in revenues for the second quarter, with the hygiene products unit enjoying an increase in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) while the industrial products subsidiary’s EBITDA declined.

Fibertex Personal Care’s revenues rose 4% compared with the year-ago quarter. The total hit DKK 506 million ($76.7 million) for the quarter, benefiting from a combination of currency as well as higher sales from its Danish plant, offset by a decline in sales by its Malaysian business.
