Converting plants moving: Albaad wraps up its Reidsville expansion; P&G Swiffer heads south

CLOVERDALE, CA, February 14, 2019-

Two companies are either wrapping up major converting plant investments affecting the nonwovens supply chain or are close to doing so, with Albaad having virtually completed its project while production of Procter & Gamble’s Swiffer and its Bounce dryer sheets has begun a shift from P&G’s Brockville, Ontario plant to its huge new Tabler Station, West Virginia complex.

Albaad has relocated equipment from its old Nicholasville, Kentucky plant to its expanded Reidsville, North Carolina center. The equipment transferred to Reidsville manufactures sanitary napkins. The Reidsville operation moved into an additional building to give it enough room for the expanded production. All of the equipment that is making the move from Kentucky has been relocated, with most of it now in operation.
