COVID and 'plastics free' help to drive rise in spunlace lines; can global market handle it?

WILMOT, NH, June 16, 2021-

When Fitesa announced on June 1 that it is installing a new Andritz spunlace machine at its plant in Sao Paolo State, Brazil, it was only the latest in a wave of orders received in recent quarters by suppliers of hydroentangling lines.

Observers say global markets will have to go through an adjustment period to absorb a great deal of new capacity, at a time when demand may be returning towards a more normalized level after a COVID-driven spike – something that is already happening in the United States, where spunlace markets have softened this year even without a huge increase in capacity.
