Indiana, Alabama, Iowa look at state tax exemptions for feminine hygiene




SAN FRANCISCO, March 13, 2025-

Indiana state budget writers in late-February added a sales tax exemption for feminine hygiene products and adult diapers in a proposal that passed the State House, the Indianapolis Business Journal reported. 

One of 20 states that currently tax such feminine (menstrual) products, according to the Alliance for Period Supplies, in July 1 would be able to buy adult diapers and feminine products in Indiana — including tampons, pads, panty liners, menstrual cups and other period-related items — without the 7% state sales tax.
