Kimberly-Clark sues to combat what it claims is a threat to its meltblown and coform intellectual property

CLOVERDALE, CA, July 18, 2019-

Kimberly-Clark is suing technology developer Extrusion Group in US federal court in a case that K-C describes as a necessary defense of patents and trade secrets related to its meltblown and coform manufacturing processes. It asks the court to prevent Extrusion Group from acting to profit from the intellectual property, and it seeks unspecified damages.

In response, Extrusion Group’s defense argues that it is not violating any patents and that the K-C technology in question does not actually represent trade secrets. Instead, it suggests that K-C is attempting to use the courts to quash competition.
